What is the TorsionGauge Pro™?

The TorsionGauge Pro™ is a specialized garage door spring diagnostic tool. It shows you (and your customer) if a torsion spring needs to be replaced. Then it quickly determines which springs to use on the install without counting coils or using a door scale.

Use one of our pre-made spring charts, ask us to make a custom spring chart for you, or use the USA Door Tech app (coming soon).

Disengage garage door opener
Clamp off the torsion tube as usual
Safely release tension on the springs
Make sure cables are still balanced and tight
Insert TorsionGauge Pro™ into spring cone
Pull straight down 1 quarter turn on the tool (door will slightly lift off the ground)
Take a reading on the bottom dial and refer to your spring chart

How do I know if a torsion spring needs to be replaced?

Disengage garage door opener. Insert the TorsionGauge Pro™ into an installed and properly wound spring cone. Pull straight down 1 quarter turn and take a reading on the top dial. This is especially useful to show the customer a spring needs to be changed even though it is not visibly broken or deformed.
